O Rio que é Amarelo

SYNOPSIS

The third book of literary series As Cores do Rio, this edition captures the historical, artistic, architectural and natural heritage of the city — including masterpieces, monuments, rare objects, and natural landscapes — selected by an interdisciplinary team of curators specially formed for the project. The first city in the world to be elected by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in Urban Cultural Landscape, mainly because of the unique combination of its urban and natural environments, Rio de Janeiro has accumulated historical importance because of its successive roles as Capital of the Colonial, Imperial and Republican Brazil. As a result of this rich past, Rio and its dwellers developed a very unique cultural background, which accompanies the Cariocas in their everyday lives, both in private and public spaces. The booklet Guia de Preservação do Patrimônio Público Tombado accompanies the book.
