O Rio que é Azul

Synopsis

A spin-off of the second book of the series As Cores do Rio, which focuses on Rio’s rivers and their controversial history, this exhibition invites visitors to rediscover the city’s water resources. By describing the process through which local sources of fresh water were abundant but over time became increasingly depleted, this event raises awareness of the need for collective action to reverse this trend. Photographic panels in large format, audiovisual projections, and ambient sound recreates the living and natural atmosphere typical of an ecosystem that relies on equilibrium. With graphics/animations describing the ways in which water moves through the three main watersheds of Rio, and other attractive pedagogical tools, the event helps educate the public on sustainable daily practices that can improve the efficiency of water usage in the city.
