Paraiba do Sul is many rivers from its source to its mouth. The river waters supplied and made possible Brazil’s socio-economic development, especially in the country’s southeast.
Sugar cane and coffee cycles and Brazil’s industrialization were only possible thanks to the Paraiba do Sul. It is a strategic river for the country, but not well known by Brazilians.
